Oviya, the Tamil actor who turned into an overnight
sensation after she appeared in Bigg Boss Tamil, made a splash when she was
signed to be the face of a famous jewellery store in Chennai, Saravana Stores.
She replaced the likes of Hansika Motwane and Tamannaah Bhatia to bag the deal.
Oviya was everyone’s sweetheart while she was in the Bigg
Boss Tamil house, thanks to her honesty and no-nonsense attitude. The fact that
many of her co-contestants were out to trouble her endeared her further to the
audience. Her sudden exit from the show in August this year created a storm of
sorts.
However, Oviya’s career has taken a turn for the better,
post her exit from the Bigg Boss Tamil house. She has signed a number of good
films but it is her ad with Saravana Stores that has become the talking point.
She was reportedly given Rs 1.5 crore for it. In doing so,
she is giving Nayanthara serious challenge. Nayanthara, the highest paid
actress in Kollywood, was reportedly paid Rs 3 crore for on TV video ad for
Tata Sky.
