eulogy
DMK Supremo Kalaignar Karunanidhi’s demise is a black mark
in Indian politics. Karunanidhi passed away day before yesterday at 6.10 pm and
yesterday his final procession was completed and his mortal remains buried.
Celebrities and stars expressed their sorrow and paid their homage to the DMK
leader.
While many were able to visit directly and pay their last
respects a few who were unable to attend shared their thoughts via web. Similarly Kollywood’s leading lady Nayantara
too shared a few words about Kalaignar. Stating that yesterday was the ‘darkest
24 hours we have ever experienced’, Nayantara noted how Karunanidhi was an
exemplary writer, orator, politician and of course, leader.
“He has been the voice of Tamilians, represented our state
and has been the headlines for almost 75 years! His achievements are
unbelievable and we have always been in awe of his excellence and the way he
has ruled the state for so many decades! With utmost respect and grief I
express my condolences to the family of the departed leader, the cadres of DMK,
and all of us who are saddend by this painful demise,” she said.
