Thirumurugan is an Indian Tamil film director who is more popularly known as a Television serial director. He holds a Guinness world record for having directed a live episode for the serial, Nadhaswaram (which was aired in Sun TV with all actors performing live on camera and live music as well which was aired for 23 minutes and 25 seconds (The longest continual camera shot).
Thirumurugan, a Kollywood director, began his career on television in Doordarshan with the teleserial Gokulam Colony Produced by Aranthangi Shankar, But Metti Oli telecasted in Sun TV which earned him a huge fan base, especially among women. His entry into the Kollywood film industry was with Em Magan (2006), which was also much talked about. The film was notably appreciated for its linear narration, which discussed familial bonds in a sensitive fashion. After the success of Em Magan, he partnered with actor Bharath, in a film titled Muniyandi Vilangial Moonramandu.
 
He is also well known as the director of the drama, Nadhaswaram where he also played the role of the lead actor.
