Actor Simbu is finally out with a solo
release after about one and a half years. He was last seen in Mani Ratnam's
multi-starrer film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, which was well-received by the
audience.
Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, directed
by Sundar C, is a family drama about a hero trying to fix his broken family.
The film has opened to a good start at the box office, with STR fans flocking to
the theatres in huge numbers.
The film has reportedly collected Rs
60 to 80 lakhs in Chennai city alone. However, it is too early to decide
whether the film is a box office success or not.
But the reviews and word-out-mouth
publicity are not in favour of the film. The film is being criticised for its
blandness and unfunny comedy sequences.
Catherine Tresa, Megha Akash, Ramya
Krishnan, Prabhu, Robo Shankar and Yogi Babu are other actors, who are part of
the movies. The film has music by HipHop Tamizha duo.
Irrespective of the negative reviews
and reactions, Simbu fans seem to have taken it upon themselves to make the
film a blockbuster.
