Secrets Behind Mount Everest

A total of 3,000 kilograms of solid
waste has been collected from Mt. Everest sincewhen Nepal launched an ambitious
clean-up campaign on April 14. The campaign is aimed at bringing back tonnes of
trash from the world’s highest peak, which has lately turned into a “garbage
dump”.
The 45-day ‘Everest Cleaning
Campaign’, led by Solukhumbu district’s Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality
began on April 14 with the Nepali new year and aims to collect nearly 10,000 kgs
of garbage from Mt. Everest.
Dandu Raj Ghimire, Director General of
Department of Tourism, addressed a press conference on Sunday, saying that of
the 3,000-kilogramme garbage collected so far, 2,000 kgs had been sent to
Okhaldhunga while the remaining 1,000 kgs were brought to Kathmandu using
Nepali Army helicopters for disposal.
“Our team has now reached the Everest
Base Camp for the cleaning campaign. All the necessary things including food,
water and shelter have already been arranged there,” Mr. Ghimire was quoted as
saying by The Himalayan Times.
“Under this campaign we will be
collecting around 5,000-kg of garbage from Base Camp area, while 2,000-kg of
garbage will be collected from the South Col region and around 3,000-kg will be
collected from Camp II and Camp III area,” he said.
Mr. Ghimire said the team will also
bring down dead bodies from the Everest if they are able to locate any.
This is the first time ever that all
stakeholders have come together to clean up the world’s highest peak, Mr.
Ghimire said.
The team has located four bodies while
cleaning the Base Camp.
Mr. Ghimire said the Tourism
Department estimates that around 23 million Nepalese rupees will be spent for the
campaign.
The department has estimated that at
least 500 foreign climbers and over 1,000 climbing support staff will visit the
higher camps of Mt. Everest this season as they prepare to scale the world’s
highest peak as well as Mt Lhotse, the fourth tallest mountain, the report
said.
Every year, hundreds of climbers,
Sherpas and high altitude porters make their way to Everest, leaving behind
tonnes of both biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste — including empty
oxygen canisters, kitchen waste, beer bottles and faecal matter — on the
highest peak, which has lately acquired notoriety as the “world’s highest
garbage dump”.
“Our goal is to extract as much waste
as possible from Everest so as to restore glory to the mountain. Everest is not
just the crown of the world, but our pride,” Mr. Ghimire told reporters in
Kathmandu.
There have been attempts in the past
to clean up Everest, including a 2014 government-mandated provision making it
mandatory for every climber to come down the peak with at least 8kgs of garbage
— the amount of trash estimated to be produced by one climber.
“If only climbers brought back their
own waste, it would greatly help keep Everest clean. It’s not about the 8-kg
waste, but bringing back the waste they produce,” Mr. Ghimire was quoted as
saying by The Kathmandu Post.
“Everything on Everest, other than
rock and snow, will be brought back. The goal is to send the message that we
should keep this mountain pollution free,” said Tika Ram Gurung, secretary of
the Nepal Mountaineering Association.
The month-and-a-half clean-up campaign
is supported by a number of governmental and non-governmental agencies.
The campaign will conclude on May 29,
the day marked every year to commemorate the first summit of Everest by Edmund
Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953.
The collected waste will then be
“showcased” in Namche town, before being ferried down to Kathmandu, where it
will once again be showcased on World Environment Day on June 5.

Actress Sri Reddy has released her
brand new intimate picture with Abhiram Daggubati and revealed that Victory
Venkatesh will be the host of Star Maa's show Bigg Boss Telugu 3.
It is known that Sri Reddy released
some of her intimate pictures with Abhiram Daggubati and their WhatsApp chats
in April 2018. She also made some startling revelations about him. She had
alleged that producer Suresh Babu's son had sexually harassed her in a
government studio, which was meant to support talented people. He cheated her
with a pretext of getting her film offers.
A year passed after her sensational
allegations against Abhiram, but Sri Reddy has made sure that the issue is
still fresh in the mind of the people. She has kept reminding everyone of the
controversy, by releasing some intimate pictures and comments every now and

However, the bosses of Star Maa are
struggling to find a suitable host for Bigg Boss Telugu 3 after Jr NTR and Nani
declined to come back on this hit show. Several names including Chiranjeevi,
Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati were doing rounds in the air, but the TV channel
is yet to confirm any. Now, Sri Reddy's announcement is creating a lot of buzz
of the game show in the social media.

actor-politician T Rajendar, has bid goodbye to singlehood as he tied the knot
with his sweetheart. Yes, the budding musician married Nabeelah R Ahmed in a
low-key event on Friday, April 26.
The wedding pictures and photos are
yet to be revealed. However, Simbu's look in which he is seen wearing kurtha

It is said to be a love-cum-arranged
marriage. Rumours have been doing rounds that Kuralarasan converted to Islam to
marry the girl of his choice.
Interestingly, neither T Rajendar nor
any members from the family opposed the relationship. After Kuralarasan
converted to Islam, he said that he considers all religions as equal.
"Tolerance of all religions is my policy. My elder son STR is an ardent
Siva devotee. My daughter Ilakkiya is a Christian and now my younger son has preferred
to follow Islam religion. I respect his decision," Deccan Chronicle quoted
him as saying.
Kuralarasan was seen in movies as a
child artiste in his father's movies. He turned full-time musician with Simbu
and Nayanthara's Idhu Namma Aalu. Unfortunately, it failed to give him a break
and Pandiraj's negative words about him did not help the cause.
He has also worked on an independent
English album and the tracks have been penned-sung by the US artists. The album
is recorded in New York.
Notably, Kuralarasan's elder brother
Simbu is yet to find his life partner and his family is in search of a suitable
girl for him.

Idris Elba has tied the knot with
girlfriend Sabrina Dhowre in a ceremony in Morocco.
In photographs shared by British Vogue
on Instagram, the bride wore a custom gown by Vera Wang, while the Luther actor
wore a bespoke suit by Ozwald Boateng.
They exchanged vows on 26 April at the
Ksar Char-Bagh hotel in Marrakesh, according to the magazine.
The night before the ceremony, friends
and family attended a “colours of the souk” themed dinner. On Saturday, they
will attend a party at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, which will reportedly
emulate the atmosphere of a festival.
The couple got engaged last February
after Elba dropped to one knee during a screening of his film Yardie at the Rio
Cinema in Dalston, east London.
Rio Cinema confirmed the news on its
Twitter account, writing: “Another riocinema first! Still 5 days to Valentines
Day but idriselba went down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend live on
stage this morning before a preview of his film.”
Elba and Dhowre, a model and former
Miss Vancouver, had reportedly been dating since early 2017.
The London-born actor was previously

Kanchana 3 starring Raghava Lawrence was released in both
Tamil and Telugu last week. The film is being received well especially by the
audience of B and C centres. Thus, Lawrence scored another hit in the franchise
of Muni. Kanchana 3 is the fourth installment of this popular horror comedy
franchise of Muni.
The film has collected almost Rs. 14 crores at the box
office in Telugu states within a week of its release. This is a huge amount
considering that the movie is a dubbed flick. That proves the craze of Kanchana
in rural and semi-urban areas. It has done a pre-release business of Rs. 16
crores.
So, after collecting two more crores at the ticket counters,
Kanchana 3 will enter into profit zones. It was directed and produced by
Lawrence himself. Vedhika, Oviya Helen and Nikki Tamboli played the female
leads in this movie.
