Kanchana is one horror comedy that fans are still pretty
excited about. Ragava Lawrence already impressed us with the first part of the
film and now we're all set for the third film of this franchise. Kanchana 3
starts off with an entertaining face off between Ragava and a bunch of goons
who report to the main antagonist. The fight scenes are both entertaining and
hilarious. Though the film does take a very weird turn with Ragava openly
flirting with his cousins in front of his family and no one seems to mind it.
There is this one sequence where Kovai Sarla, Devadarshini
and Sriman are performing certain tasks to find out if there is really an evil
spirit in the house. It's very similar to the tasks they had performed in the
first film, too. Not to mention, Devadarshini and Kovai Sarla's equation
onscreen is a delight to watch. So far, Kanchana 3 gives you the spooks and
makes you laugh at the same time. The writing comes off as very weak when it
comes to Ragava's equation with Vedhika, Oviya and Nikki Tamboli. There are a
lot of clichés in the first half of the film that you cannot ignore.
For instance, there is one particular scene that seems
inspired from Conjuring 2. Hopefully, the second half will have Ragava in
action with lots of entertainment.
