Kavin was born on 22 June 1990 (age 29 years; as in 2019) in Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. He did his schooling from Tiruchirapalli and went to Loyola College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu to pursue a Bachelor degree in Chemistry. During his college days, he participated in an RJ hunt contest for an FM channel. Thereafter, he began acting in short films. Kavin joined an acting workshop and started giving auditions for some films and TV shows. When he was in his final year, he got selected in an audition conducted by Star Vijay after which he dropped his studies to make a career in acting.
