A picture of Maharashtra CM's wife shooting for her debut
music album with Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has
become the latest political controversy in Maharashtra. Citing insensitivity, the
opposition has attacked the BJP and the CM.
Amruta Devendra Fadnavis, apart from being the wife of
Maharashtra's most powerful person, is banker, singer and now an actor. Amruta
Fadnavis shot for her debut music album in Mumbai on Tuesday with Amitabh
Bachchan. Amruta made her Bollywood debut as a playback singer last year with
Kunal Kohli's Phir se and Prakash Jha's Jai Gangajal.
Apart from a few Marathi films and shows, Amruta also walked
the ramp at the New York Fashion Week. Amruta who inculcated her hobby as a
singer only realised her dream of playback singing post Devendra Fadnavis's
elevation as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
After a Mumbai based tabloid published her pictures, social
media went viral with comments. Sanjay Nirupam, President of Mumbai Congress
tweeted on Amruta Fadnavis's debut album and pictures with Amitabh Bachchan
alleging insensitivity.
"80ppl have died due to #notebandi. The real
beneficiary of new currency dancing with Big B. Did u both PM and CM
notice?" read Nirupam's tweet.
"We have no objection to a person pursuing hobbies. But
as the wife of the CM you are expected to be more sensitive. Yesterday when she
was singing and dancing for this shoot, 7 jawans got martyred. People are dying
in bank queues. Shouldn't the wife of CM be more sensitive?? How can she just
be so indifferent," said Nirupam while talking to India Today.
This also is not the first time that the opposition has
raised questions on Amruta Fadnavis's bollywood dreams questioning
privileges at her disposal to fulfill her dream of making it big in the glamour
industry
