Ajith Kumar starrer is doing wonderful business at the box office. The film has fared well at Chennai box office and interestingly it has also surpassed the record of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali at Chennai box office. The movie has minted Rs 8.50 cr by the end of second week leaving behind Baahubali. Despite mixed reviews, the movie has become a blockbuster, courtesy Thala’s ardent fans. The figures were shared by Ramesh Bala on social media.
Ramesh took to micro-blogging site Twitter and tweeted, “At the end of 2nd weekend, #Vivegam collects 8.50 Cr in Chennai.. Overtakes #BaahubaliTheBeginning 's Gross of 8.25 Cr.. #6 AT Chennai.”
It is a great news for all Thala fans as Baahubali is itself a big name that created furore at the box office.
On the opening day, the film earned Rs 1.21cr at Chennai box office breaking the record of actor Rajinikanth starrer Kabali that minted Rs 1.12 crore on the first day in Chennai.
Baahubali 2 featuring Prabhas and Anushka Shetty in pivotal roles broke box office records and crossed Rs 1500 cr mark worldwide.
Along with Ajith, Vivegam also features actress Kajal Aggarwal. Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, who has made his Tamil debut with Vivegam, plays an antagonist in the film.
