Raghuram faced a lot of backlash after her stint in Bigg Boss Tamil season 1.
The actress is once again in the news for all the wrong reasons.
This time, she has been booked by
police officials for drunken driving.
According to a report in a leading
daily, traffic police stopped her vehicle near Sathya Studio, Adyar on Saturday
(November 24). When she was asked to take the breath test, Gayathri had
confessed that she is under the influence of alcohol and the test proved
positive as well.
Reportedly, Gayathri attended a party
organised for film personalities at a star hotel in MRC Nagar. After spotting
her on the road, many people began to take photos and videos. It is said that
the actress had requested the police to drop her at home and seize the vehicle.
Later, a constable drove her to her
house in Adyar and seized her car. A case under Section 185 (driving by a
drunken person or by a person under the influence of drugs) of Motor Vehicles
Act and also for rash driving has been filed.
It is rumoured that she had paid Rs
3500 as fine.
However, Gayathri took to Twitter to
share her side of the story. She stated that the media is constantly targeting
her.
She also wrote, "I did not have
license other documents with me and it was in my different handbag. Traffic
police came with me to check the documents. I, in fact, appreciated their work
there was no quarrel he spoke about my father and he was in fact fan of me we
took a selfie. I drove the car. If I was drunk they wouldn't have let me drive
my car again. Stop cooking stories. (sic)"
