Sembaruthi or
Chembaruthi (Tamil: செம்பருத்தி) (English: Hibiscus) is a 2017 Tamil-language romance Family soap
opera starring Karthik Raj, Shabana Shajahan and Priya Raman. It is a remake of
Muddha Mandaram serial, a leading serial in Zee Telugu. It is currently airing
on Zee Tamil every Monday to Friday at 9:00 PM (IST). Later extended up to
Sunday. It is currently the number 1 serial on Zee Tamil along with Yaaradi Nee
Mohini, with a great TRP ratings stated by BARC India. The chemistry between
the lead pairs (Karthik Raj & Shabana) is the highlight of the show and
their love story would be different and not a regular one like seen in all
other serials. It has a great TRP in Zee Tamil Channel and currently stands at
No.1 position. Sembaruthi has successfully completed 100th episode on 5 March
2018 and still remains in top position with Yaaradi Nee Mohini in the TRP
ratings. It also marks "Oorvambu" Lakshmi's fifth TV serial
appearance after Ahalya , |Rajakumari and Vamsam in Sun TV and Veetukku Veedu
Looti in Jaya TV.
The show is
remade into Malayalam under the title, Chembarathi which is being aired on Zee
Keralam channel and in Kannada as Paaru in Zee Kannada.
As per the
BARC ratings of week 50,2018 , It is the most watched Tamil television series
with 14.32 TVR ( 11159 TVT). Sembaruthi also made a history for the first time
ever non-SunTV serial made the Number 1 position in tamil nadu.
In week 46,
The serial garners 14.35 TVR on its Original airing (As per BARC ratings )
telecast which was higher than all serials ratings in Tamilnadu on that particular
week .This Number 1 position also continues on Week 47 ,Week 48 with the great
,ratings of 14.41 TVR and 14.75 TVR respectively.
As per the
BARC ratings of week 02,2019, It is the most watched Tamil Television series
with 16.23 TVR ( 12643 TVT). This serial stands No. 1 position among all the
Tamil serials in Tamil Television Industry.
