Director CS Amudhan's Tamizh Padam 2 starring Shiva, Disha Pandey and Iswarya Menon is off to a fantastic start. The film released alongside Karthi's Kadaikutty Singam and both these films have been going strong at the box office.
In just three days of its theatrical run, Tamizh Padam 2 has earned over Rs 10 crore. On the first day, the film minted Rs 4.2 crore, which is a staggering number for a film without an A-lister in it. On the second day, the film grossed Rs 2.8 crore.
With positive word of mouth, the film registered another Rs 3 crore on Saturday. Trade analysts suggest that the collections will definitely see a rise in the coming days.
Tamizh Padam 2 has earned Rs 1.51 crore in Chennai alone at the end of three days. The first part, which released in 2010 has a cult following among the audience. The second part has also lived up to people's expectations to an extent.
From PM Modi to Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, Tamizh Padam 2 has spared no one. It has taken potshots at several popular films and political happenings in the country.
