M Balamuralikrishna passed away at his residence in Chennai on Tuesday. He was
86. He had not been keeping well for the past few days.
Born in Sankaraguptam in Andhra Pradesh, Mangalampalli
Balamuralikrishna started singing at the age of six. He was a master of
Carnatic and Hindustani vocal music and played musical instruments like the
viola, the violin and the mridangam. He had composed music and acted in some

Balamurali Krishna (6 July 1930 – 22 November 2016) was an Indian Carnatic
vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, playback singer, composer and actor.[1] He was
awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honour, for his
contribution towards Indian Art. He was made Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et
des Lettres by the French Government in 2005.
K.Subash:
K. Subash (birth name Shankar Krishnan) works in Indian film industry as film director and Screenwriter who
directs Tamil and Hindi films.
He is the son of R. Krishnan.[1]
K. Subash started his career as an assistant to Mani Ratnam in Nayagan. He made his directorial debut with Kaliyugam with Prabhu.
His second film Chatriyan starring Vijayakanth was
a blockbuster. He made Ayul Kaidhi, Vaakumoolam and Uthama
Purushan in the same period. He directed Pavithra with Ajithkumar.[2] He
directed another police drama Abhimanyu with Parthiban in
lead role. He directed Ninaivirukkum Varai and Eazhaiyin Sirippil with Prabhu Deva.[3][4] In
2000, he had planned a film starring comedian Vivek in
a lead role titled Enakkenna Korachal?, though the film never
materialized.[5]
He again directed Sabhash with
Parthiban.[6][7] He
directed 123 with Prabhu Deva and
his brothers which was Subash's last directorial in Tamil. He announced a
project called Aayiram Poi Solli with Prabhu and Ramya Krishnan, the
film was shelved after shooting few scenes while another film titled Sarvadhikari with Arjun also
failed to proceed after its launch.[8][9] He
remade Telugu film Khadgam as Insan in
Hindi with ensemble star cast featuring Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan.
The film failed at box office and Subash opted against directing films and
instead provided screenplay for Hindi film Sunday. Subhash had provided the story for Shahrukh Khan starrer Chennai
Express.
