Actor siblings Devyani and Nakkul have been driven to deep grief as their mother Lakshmi Jayadev passed away this morning.  She was said to have been admitted to a private hospital many days ago due to age-related ailments and succumbed to it.

Lakshmi Jayadev is credited to have been the strongest support for Devyani when she made her debut as an actress in the early nineties and chaperoned her to become one of the most sought after leading ladies in Tamil and Malayalam cinema.  Later her younger son Nakkul too made his mark after debuting in Shankar's 'Boys'.  Kollywood celebrities are paying their respects in person and over the phone to both Devyani and Nakkul.
