Saravanan Meenatchi fame Television actor Rajashekar (aged
61) passed away in Chennai. The channel which aired the famous Saravanan
Meenatchi featuring Rajashekar shared the news of his demise on their official
page.
According to the reports, Rajashekar was suffering from
health issues over the past few days and was under treatment in a private
hospital at Chennai. He breathed his last today (September 8). The members of
the TV fraternity and silver screen fraternity are expressing their grief over
Rajashekar’s death.
Rajashekar was a multifaceted personality who had a
successful career in multiple domains of the entertainment industry. He served
as a writer, cinematographer, an actor and director.
He has acted in number of films. But, he is fondly
remembered for his performance in his debut movie ‘Nizhalgal’, directed by the
renowned director Bharathiraja.
Later, he became part of the Robert Ashirwatham - Rajasekar
duo and directed movies like ‘Manasukkul Mathappu’, ‘Paravaigal Palavitham’,
‘Chinna Poove Mella Pesu’ to name a few.
Rajasekar was part of a dozen plus serials like Velan,
Uravugal Sangamam, Thendral, Thayumanavan, Shanthi Nilayam, Saravanan
Meenatchi, Ponnunjal, Manam Thirumbuthe, Geethanjali, Chellamadi Nee Enakku,
Valli, Mappillai, Lakshmi Vandhachu, Mahalakshmi, Kana Kanum Kalangal
Kallooriyin Kathai amongst others.
Rajasekar gained huge name and fame after featuring in the
role of Rajasekar in the serial Saravanan Meenatchi. He was last seen in the
serial Sathya as Shanmugasundram (Prabhu's father).
Actor and Politician R Sarath Kumar took to his Twitter
handle and expressed grief over the sudden demise of Rajashekar.
