Kodi is a political thriller in which actor Dhanush plays a dual role– one is a powerful politician named Kodi and the other is an upright young man named Anbu. The film features actress Trisha Krishnan as Rudra who is the politician and love interest of Kodi and another actress Anupama Parameswaran will be seen as Malathy who likes the Anbu.
Kodi movie story about the politics in the village based on power plant factory near a village, which sets a ball of destruction rolling across the village and the lives of all those involved. Karunas, who wants to become a politician but due his inability he failed to prove is talent in politics. Karunas burns himself to stop the factory in the village. Karunas’s twin sons Kodi and Anbu elder son Kodi gets into Politics and another son Anbu into teaching profession.
Kodi fall in love with Rudra (Trisha) who is the most powerful politician in the opponent party. The second one Anbu falls in love with Malathy(Anupama). After the certain stage, both twin brothers comes to know that the factory still runs with help of ruling party where Kodi works for the same party. Kodi take this to his leader asked them to stop but they convince him and asked him to run for the local election. Dhanush is trailing for a hit since his last two films-Thanga Magan and Thodari which are not upto the mark. For every movie he plays unique roles in which he just lives in the character. Now Dhanush has high expectations on ‘Kodi’ film which also releasing Telugu as ‘Dharma Yogi’.
