Recently, at a
book launch function, well-known actor and producer Suriya broke down on stage
after the former students of his Non-profit organisation, Agaram Foundation,
spoke about their inspiring success stories after a period of struggle.
During the
event, Gayathri, who had benefited from the Agaram Foundation's student
programmes spoke about her journey. A daughter of daily wage labourers,
Gayathri belonged to a small village and received educational help from Agaram
Foundation to complete her college education. Gayathri is now working as an
English trainer.
Gayathri
attributed her success to the help she received from Agaram Foundation. While
listening to her story, Suriya broke down on stage and embraced her.
Later, Suriya
spoke about his growing years and his contribution to the society through the
organization, which had recently completed ten years of functioning. The actor
said that Agaram Foundation is his way of paying back to the society that
accepted him as an actor. The actor thanked his well-wishers and donors for
making Agaram Foundation thrive.
