S.J. Suryah is one of the few talented entertainers who has balanced his directing and acting skills perfectly.  His recent appearance as a fierce villain in 'Iraivi', 'Spyder' and  'Mersal' has been celebrated by fans.  At the same time his innocent transformation as a meek common man pitted against a clever rat in 'Monster' also became a huge hit.

S.J. Suryah is currently starring in 'Bommai' directed by Radha Mohan and costarring his 'Monster' heroine Priya Bhavani Shankar.  A rumour started doing the rounds that there was a romantic encounter between the two stars on the sets.

S.J. Suryah has clarified on Twitter "Some idiot have spread the wrong news that I made a love Propossal to Priya Bhavani Shankar and she rejected it .... she a very good friend of mine since “Monster” & sincere actress too that’s it .... pls don’t irritate and spread false baseless rumours ... thx ... sjs". (Social media post not spell checked)

Priya Bhavani Shankar is currently starring as Kamal Haasan's pair  in 'Indian 2' and also films with Harish Kalyan, Atharvaa, Dulquer Salman and Arun Vijay.
