Vijay starrer Bigil has turned out to be the biggest release this Diwali. The film has already collected Rs 75 crore in Tamil Nadu and is inching towards the 100 crore mark and the fact that there are no big releases this week will add to its advantage, according to trade analyst Kaushik LM.

He tweeted, “#Bigil storms past the 75+ CR gross mark in TN & is the #3 grosser in TN this year after just 4 days 🙏Has crossed the star’s 2016 BB #Theri’s lifetime TN gross already👌 Racing towards TN century this coming weekdays 👍.”

Helmed by Atlee, who earlier directed Vijay in Theri and Mersal, Bigil is a sports action drama that has the actor in dual roles. Nayanthara is sharing screen space with Vijay after a gap of almost 10 years. They were last seen together in Villu (2009). Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Vivek, Anandaraj, Yogi Babu and Daniel Balaji among others are part of the supporting cast.

The film was released on October 25 alongside actor Karthi’s Kaithi. Both films opened to good reviews and are holding their own at the box office.
