At present Nayan is playing in Imaikka Nodigal with Atharvaa. She plays the sister to Atharvaa. Atharvaa is a doctor and Nayantara is a CBI officer. Besides this, Nayantara is playing mom to a 4-year-old kid. Nayantara always gives importance to the script.

Imaikkaa Nodigal is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language neo noir crime thriller film written and directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu starring Atharvaa and Nayanthara as the main protagonists. It also has Raashi Khanna in leading role and Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap as the main antagonist. The film is produced by C. J. Jayakumar of Cameo Films India and begun production during October 2016.
