AR Rahman reveals secret behind his directorial debut

Academy Award-winning composer A R Rahman has turned director. The musician is coming up with his directional debut movie named 'Le Musk' Le Musk is a musically immersive Virtual Reality movie (in English) supported by a combination of sensory experiences to take you to places you have never been before.

AR Rahman has said, "One day I was chatting with my wife (Saira Banu) and she is fond of perfumes. So, she said, ‘Why don’t you make a movie on perfumes?’ It was actually her initiative. That time I wanted to create a theatre with projections all over and have scent added to it — just as an experiment. But, in three months, somebody gave me a headset and then my wife said don’t create a theatre and rather do it with VR, which is evolving. It was a kind of an experiment and I loved doing it. So now I will look at doing more of it" in a recent interview.

Written, directed and scored by AR Rahman, the movie stars Nora Arnezeder, Guy Burnet, Munirih Jahanpour & Mariam Zohrabyan in the lead roles. Shot in Rome, the film is about orphaned child Juliet; a part time musician.According to the reports, Rahman himself has penned the film’s story along with his wife Saira Rahman. "இந்த திரைப்படம் உருவாக தன் மனைவி சாயிரா பண்ணுவே காரணம் என்று தெரிவித்துள்ளார் ரஹ்மான். ஒரு நாள் நானும் என் மனைவியின் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் போது, வாசனை திரவியங்களை அடிப்படையாக வைத்து நீங்கள் ஏன் படம் இயக்கக் கூடாது என்று கேட்டார். படம் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும் போதே காட்சிக்கேற்ற வகையில் வாசனை திரவியங்களை பரப்பி ஒரு புது அனுபவத்தை தரும் வகையிலான தியேட்டர்களை மாற்றி அமைக்க முயற்சி செய்து கொண்டிருந்தேன். அப்போது தான் விஆர் ஹெஸ்ட்செட்டை எனக்கு அறிமுகம் செய்து வைத்தனர். அதன் பின்னர் அதற்கேற்ற வகையில் படம் எடுத்தேன்." என்று கூறியுள்ளார் இசைப்புயல். 

இப்படத்தை எழுதி, இயக்கி இசையும் அமைக்கிறார் 'இசைப்புயல்' ஏஆர் ரஹ்மான். நோரா அர்நீஸ்டர், கய் பெர்னாட், முனிரி மற்றும் மரியம் ஸோரப்யன் உள்ளிட்ட பிரெஞ்சு, பிரிட்டன் நடிகர்கள் நடிக்கின்றனர். இவர்கள் அனைவருமே பாடகர்கள் என்பது குறிப்பிடத் தக்கது.
