Kamal says 'Indians are lucky' 

The director who changed the face of South Indian cinema, K Viswanath, has been honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2016. The government announced the award on Monday. This is the highest award in the field of cinema. His film Shankarabharanam changed Telugu cinema and took it into the international arena. He has also acted in various Tamil movies including actor Kamal's Kuruthipunal, Uthama Villain. 

Actor Kamalahasan associated with  K Viswanath for many films was so on full praise of him. In his tweet Kamal said," My K.Vishwanath gaaru is a Dada Saheb Palke award winner. In his humility he would say " I am lucky" .Truth is Indians are lucky. So am I". Later he also said, "Thank u with glistening eyes Vishwanath gaaru for Sagara sangamam. Like Balu of S.S I initiate more applause. Your fame is mine vice versa".

The award will be presented to K Viswanath by The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee next week. The award also includes 10 lakhs of cash prize.

விருது வழங்கியது பற்றி கருது கூறியுள்ள நடிகர் கமலஹாசன், என் ஆசான் கே.விஸ்வநாத் அவர்களுக்கு  தாதா சாகேப் பால்கே விருது வழங்கப்பட்டிருப்பது பெரும் மகிழ்ச்சி அளிக்கிறது. இதைப் பற்றி விஸ்வநாதிடம் கேட்டால் விருது கிடைப்பது தன்னுடைய அதிர்ஷடம் என்பார். ஆனால், விஸ்வநாத்தை சினிமாவில் பெற்றிருப்பதற்கு இந்தியர்கள் தான் அதிர்ஷ்டசாலிகள் என்பேன். சாகர சங்கமம் என்ற அற்புதமான திரைப்படத்தை வழங்கியதற்காக  ஆனந்த கண்ணீருடன் நன்றி தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். அப்படத்தில் வரும் பாலு கதாப்பாத்திரம் போன்றே நானும் கைதட்டலை நிறுத்த மாட்டேன். உங்களுடைய புகழ் எனக்கும், என்னுடைய புகழ் உங்களுக்கும் சொந்தம்" என்று கே.விஸ்வநாத் அவர்களுக்கு புகழாரம் சூட்டி உள்ளார் கமல்.

அடுத்தவாரம் ராஷ்டிரபதி பவனில் நடைபெற இருக்கும் விழாவில் இந்த விருதை வழங்க இருக்கிறார் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் பிரணாப் முகர்ஜி. விருதுடன், தங்க தாமரை பட்டயமும், 10 லட்ச ரூபாய் ரொக்கப் பணமும் வழங்கப்படும்.
