Kamal Haasan's Tamil version of Bigg Boss in Star Vijay TV has kick started last Sunday. Right from the beginning the show has seen a tremendous response.  Bigg Boss is a reality show in which a number of contestants (known as "housemates") live in a purpose-built house and are isolated from the rest of the world. The events in the house will be filmed by 100s of cameras set up in it. Acor Kamal would be appearing on every Saturday to review the past week's event in the house and announce the eliminations.

The contestants for the episode are actors Shree, Anuya, Vaiyapuri, Gayathri Raghuram, Bharani, Oviya, Harathi Ganesh, Ganja Karuppu, Ganesh Venkatram, Sakthi, Namitha, Snehan, model Aarav, Jallikkattu fame Julie and Miss India contestant Raiza Wilson. The show is already a hit and topped in TRP ratings. However, as the days go the show started reciving oppose from various group. 

HIndu Makkal Katchi has announced that they will demonstate protests agains the show. They claim that the show is demeaning Hindu beliefs and supports western practices. Many social activists also condemned the tone and tenor of the show which influences kids and families and demanded the makers to stop the show immediately, however the channel don't have the idea of stopping the show in near future.

சமீபகாலங்களில், டிஆர்பி ரேட்டிங்கில் பின்னுக்குச் சென்றுள்ள ஸ்டார் விஜய் டிவி, பிக் பாஸின் தமிழ் பதிப்பின் மூலம் தங்களுடைய ரேட்டிங்கை 50 சதவீதம் வரையிலும் உயர்த்தி உள்ளது. நடிகர் கமலஹாசன் தொகுத்து வழங்கும் இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி கடந்த ஞாயிறு அன்று தொடங்கப்பட்டு தமிழகம் முழுக்க பேசுபொருளாகி இருக்கிறது. நடிகைகள் நமீதா, ஓவியா, அனுயா, நடிகர்கள் கணேஷ் வெங்கட்ராம், சக்தி, வையாபுரி, கஞ்சா கருப்பு என பரிச்சயமான நட்சத்திரங்களுடன் ஆரவ், ஜூலி என புது முகங்களும் இதில் கலந்து கொண்டுள்ளனர். இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் பிரபலமானவர்கள் ஒரே வீட்டில் 100 நாட்களுக்கும் மேலாக தங்கி இருந்து அங்கு தரப்படும் போட்டிகளை சமாளித்து, பார்வையாளர்களின் வாக்குகளின் அடிப்படையில் வெற்றியாளராக அறிவிக்கப்ப படுவார்.  அவர்களின் அத்தனை நடவடிக்கைகளும், நூற்றுக்கணக்கான கேமராக்கள் கொண்டு கண்காணிக்கப் படும். ஒவ்வொரு சனிக்கிழமையும் நடிகர் கமல் இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியில் தோன்றி அந்த வார நிகழ்வுகளை ரிவ்யூ செய்து, போட்டியாளர்களை எலிமினேட் செய்வார்.

தொடக்கத்தில் இருந்தே சர்ச்சைகளை கிளப்பி வரும் பிக் பாஸ் நிகழ்ச்சியில் இருந்து உடல் நலக் குறைவு காரணமாக சில நாட்களிலேயே வெளியேறி உள்ளார் நடிகர் ஸ்ரீ.  ஒவ்வொரு பிரபலங்களும் சண்டை போட்டுக் கொள்ள ஆரம்பித்து சூடு பிடித்திருக்கும் நிகழ்ச்சி டிஆர்பி ரேட்டிங்கிலும்  சூடு பிடித்திருக்கிறது. ஒரு சில நாட்களிலேயே தமிழகத்தின் பெரும்பான்மையான மக்கள் பார்க்கும் நிகழ்ச்சியாகி உள்ளது பிக் பாஸ்.

வெற்றிகரமாக தொடங்கி இருக்கும் இந்நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு தற்போது அரசியல் ரீதியாக எதிர்ப்புகள் கிளம்பி இருக்கிறது. இந்து மக்கள் கட்சியின் சார்பாக இந்த நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு எதிராக போராட்டம் நடத்தப்பட இருப்பதாக அறிவிப்பு வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. தமிழக மக்களின் கலாச்சாரத்திற்கு எதிராக இருப்பதாக சமூக ஆர்வலர்களும் குரல் எழுப்பி வருகின்றனர். மற்றொருபுறம், இந்நிகழ்ச்சியின் மூலம் நம் குடும்ப அமைப்பை சிதைக்க பன்னாட்டு நிறுவனங்கள் முயற்சிப்பதாக இலுமினாட்டிகளை எதிர்ப்போர் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். பல தரப்பில் இருந்தும் வரும் எதிர்ப்பின் காரணமாக பிக் பாஸ் நிகழ்ச்சி நிறுத்தப்படலாம் என தகவல் கசிகிறது. ஆனால், சேனல் தரப்பில் நிகழ்ச்சியை நிறுத்த வாய்ப்புகள் குறைவு என்று தெரிவிக்கின்றனர்.
