இதுகுறித்து தனது அறிக்கையில் சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளதாவது, அரசியல் கட்சித் தலைவர்களான திருமாவளவன், வைகோ, வேல்முருகன் ஆகியோரின் வேண்டுகோளை ஏற்று நான் இந்த பயணத்தை ரத்து செய்கிறேன். எனினும் அவர்கள் கூறும் காரணங்கள் ஏற்புடையது அல்ல. அதை நான் முழுமனதாக ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளவில்லை. நான் அரசியல்வாதி அல்ல, கலைஞர். நண்பர் திருமாவளவன் கூறியதை போல கலைஞர்களுக்கு எல்லை இல்லை. வருங்காலத்தில் இலங்கை செல்ல எனக்கு வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தால் அதை அரசியலாக்கி தடுத்து விட வேண்டாம். புனித போர் நிகழ்ந்த பூமியை காண ஆவலுடன் உள்ளேன். தமிழக மீனவர்கள் ஒரு ஜான் வயிற்றுக்காக கடலில் செல்லும் மீனவர்களை சுட்டுக் கொல்ல வேண்டாம் என்று இலங்கை அதிபர் சீறிசேனாவிடம் கோரிக்கை விடுக்க நேரம் கேட்டுள்ளேன் என்று தனது அறிக்கையில் தெரிவித்தார்.
எந்திரன் 2.0 படத்தின் தயாரிப்பாளரான லைக்கா சுபாஷ்கரனின் ஞானம் அறக்கட்டளை சார்பில் இடம்பெயர்ந்த 150 தமிழர்களுக்கு இலவச வீடுகள் வழங்கும் விழா யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் ஏப்ரல் 9-ஆம் தேதி நடைபெற உள்ளது. இந்த விழாவில் நடிகர் ரஜினிகாந்த் பங்கேற்க உள்ளதாக தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது. விடுதலைச் சிறுத்தைகள் கட்சித் தலைவர் திருமாவளவன் இந்த பயணத்தை ரஜினிகாந்த் தவிர்க்க வேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக் கொண்டனர்.அரசியல் கட்சித் தலைவர்களின் வேண்டுகோளை ஏற்று என்னுடைய பயணத்தை ரத்து செய்வதாக சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினிகாந்த் அறிக்கையில் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

Superstar Rajinikanth was said to be inaugurating 150 free homes to Sri Lankan Tamils, constructed by Gnanam Foundation, part of Lyca Productions, who are producing the actor’s mega budget sci-fi action entertainer 2.0. The event will also be attended by Chief Minister Vigneshwaran and leading politicians of Sri Lanka. According to the official press statement issued by Lyca Productions, the event will be happening on April 9 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Politicians like Thirumavalavan had asked Rajni to reconsider his decision to travel Srilanka.
Today in a statement Superstar has stated that he is cancelling his travel to Srilanka. He also said that he wanted to visit the land of great fighters who fought for their people. He also had an appointment with Srilankan President to ask him to stop the violences on Indian fishermen. Rajni requested the politicians to not to politicise his Srilanka visit if he happens to visit in future.
