Vaigai Express is a murder and investigation thriller film which is directed by Shaji Kailas and produced by R.K. The movie is written by Prabhakar. The film starcats are R.K and Neetu Chandra plays lead roles, while Iniya essays a supporting role, and also Suja Varunee, Komal Sharma, Nassar, R.K.Selvamani, Pawan, M.S.Bhaskar, Ramesh Khanna, Singamuthu, John Vijay, Manobala, Suman, Siddique who plays a pivotal roles to execute their characters. The movie is official remake of Malayalam film Nadiya Kollappetta Rathri. The music is composed by S.Thaman, cinematography by Sanjeev Shankar and edited by Don Max.
Actor come producer R.K. revealed that he would work for the third time with the director Shaji Kailas after previous collaborations on Ellam Avan Seyal and En Vazhi Thani Vazhi, and announced he would finance and star in an action film titled Vaigai Express. An ensemble cast of actresses and supporting actors was announced at a launch held at AVM Studios, Chennai.
Three young women, Neetu Chandra, a classical dancer and a TV news reporter travelling to Madurai from Chennai in the A/C coach of Vaigai Express. The murder investigation goes to a special police team head R.K. A terrorist RK Selvamani who is travelling in the same train gets caught by the police, and they came to know he is linked to the three murders.
However RK find outs the terrorist is not the murderer and he starts investigating the co passengers including Ineya and also her family members, young doctor friends, M.S.Bhaskar plays a coach helper role. Finally, how RK finds the murderers of the three women and if there is any connection between the three deaths. His investigation process forms the rest of the film.
